There is No Party for us tonight

Age of Reason

Progressives, Freethinkers, Truthseekers are all without a real political voice in the USofA. There is no party that can effectively voice our concerns and views. We leap to the Republican message of conservatism in election cycle, only to discover the GOP doesn't even know what conservatism is. The pond-scum in that party do not even hear their own conservatives crying from the wilderness. Progressives, Freethinkers, Truthseekers will be referred to as 'we' and 'us' in this article of reflection and weeping.
The GOP is ruthless in destroying personal freedoms, so we choose to vote Democratic in the next election cycle. Then again we find that our personal freedoms are constrained even more and in more subtle methods. While being the lesser of the two evils, the Democrats offer little to no change at all. Neither of the political regimes reflect the 'real' values that we hold.

The values espoused by statesmen of antiquity are the values of progressives, freethinkers, and truthseekers. Those values for an eternal quest for individual freedoms and peace are used by pundits in cute ideologues during their campaign stunts, and are quickly forgotten as they return to the houses of power and corruption.

The values of the founders of two once great nations are merely quotes for the power structures to destroy. The values of statesmen such as Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Martin Luther King, Sam Houston, Stephen Austin, David Crockett and others, which they were willing to fight and die for, are sent to the history books to die a painfully public death.

The two parties in power have failed us and have failed the founders and statesmen that fought to deliver us from evils of government. The only way to tell a Republican from a Democrat is by how much they stole from us and the number of scandals and crimes they are involved in.

It is so easy for us to fault Bush for an illegal war and blame 'just' the GOP for all the blunders and deaths it has caused. But it takes a two-thirds majority vote for most things to happen in the Congress. It took Democrats that were pro-war, or cowards, or 'could care less' for the wars against Islam to happen. We have all too soon forgotten that the Democrats also started their illegal war against Yugoslavia. And we have all too soon forgotten that it could only have been enabled with Republican complicity.

Neither party represents our values. Neither party represents our economic problems. Neither party protects us from government, which was the major concern of Jefferson, Adams, Houston and Crockett.

The party of Lincoln are nothing but traitors and the party of jackasses are nothing but abettors.

We are not so blind not to recognize the mistakes of these statesmen. Some of the founding fathers are on record admitting their mistakes. We do not deify them, as the two parties attempt to deify their candidates.

If the Democrats gain control of either or both houses of Congress today it is we the people of 'values of ideals' that have made it possible. Many may vote Democrat out of disgust with the GOP, true -- but they don't even know why. They don't even know they are like us in our dreams and desires. They flounder hoping to define what it is they desire in a government.

We are the warriors against tyranny, whether the tyranny be from a dictatorship or elected officials. We stand up against executive, judicial, and legislative tyranny. While many people, and many of us, use the word tyranny often, we seldom reflect on what tyranny really is.

The 'once upon a time' freethinking Masonic Brotherhood held freedom, especially personal freedom, as the great ideal for all. They supported it, they help found it, they helped mold it, and even died for it. The decaying from within and without Masonic Lodges of today are a travesty. They are just another me-too group of old men with their hands in the cookie jars of greed and mammon. They have no direction and are just an old men's club, standing for nothing.

What defines our 'values'? our Ideals?

We look for the answer from history and from those that defined what government is supposed to be, and what freedoms we are supposed to enjoy.

We hold simply… 'these truths to be self-evident'.. We know that government must be constrained to a small entity that seldom affects our everyday lives, serving only what the government was empowered to do. A strong federal government where and when strength is needed, and a virtually powerless one when our freedoms are involved. This is conservatism. This is the conservatism that America bleeds for and most are not able to describe, because they have never known it. A federal government powerless to go to war, excepting when her 'boundaries and territory' is under actual threat. Conservative governments are not police governments of world affairs. Conservative governments are the 'live and let live' governments of the world. The USofA is NOT conservative under either party. The 'verbiage' is merely the ruse.

We hold simply.. 'these truths to be self-evident'… Our founders of the republic expressed the greatest desire and formed the governments to 'protect -- our freedoms.' In spite of all the religious rhetoric, the founders also empowered government to protect us against 'forced religion.' A government is supposed to be powerless to favor one religion over another, or favor any religion at all. Not only was it freedom OF religion, but also freedom AGAINST religion. Pursuit of happiness was the goal. Individuals seeking happiness through whatever lawful endeavors they chose, without the fear of government, or religion coming in to quash that pursuit. These are liberal views!

We how do we define our goals and ideals? Conservative government with Liberal individual freedoms. Our true party would be the best of both ideals. This is not a moderate philosophy for moderate views are sacrificing one view over another depending on the issue at hand. We cannot tolerate sacrificing a freedom for security. We cannot tolerate conservative freedom for a liberal government. It has to be the other way around.

So when the polls close today, we lose-- no matter who wins.

Unless we force the 'good' in both parties to return to the Age of Reason and Enlightenment, we remain enslaved by the governments that were supposed to protect us from such things. Until we see statesmen of the caliber of Thomas Jefferson holding elected office, that will plainly tell a lobbyist, a religion, a corruptor, that this government is powerless to do as these single interests demand, then we remain without a voice in government.

So no matter who wins today.. we lose. The only thing we can hope for is a Mexican standoff between the two parties in power, which will allow the rest of us a chance to catch our breath.

Conservative government, liberal freedom.. that's all we ask
