Why is it that the world fights over religious dogmas, creating confusion, chaos, wars, torture, murders, assassinations, and ignores the teachings of their own scriptures?
"The teachings of the Bible are quite simple: They are summed up very nicely in a story about Rabbi Hillel (c. 30BCE)"
(This would have made Rabbi Hillel contemporary with the Jesus time period or at least his teachings would have been those studied during the alleged lifetime of Jesus)
"The rabbi was confronted by a student who thought that he could trick him. The student said to the rabbi that if he could recite the the whole of the Torah while standing on one foot he would study hard and become a scholar."
"The rabbi tool hold of one foot and said: 'Whatever you find hateful to yourself, do not do to your fellow man. This is the whole of the Torah: The rest is commentary. Now go and study."
"All the teachings of the Bible can be summed up in this simple injunction: Love God and love your neighbor.
This is completely forgotten by fundamentalist Christians. To them the law is: 'Impose yourself on everyone. Use any means possible to instill confusion, ignorance, and superstition. Don't allow anyone to think, reason and understand. Blind faith and adherence to dogma and the manipulated word as well as control of the masses and their wallets is most important.'
There are many today who have set themselves up as 'God's Official Interpreter" of The Bible. They quote verses out of context, read things into the verses which are NOT there, never were there, nor were intended to be there, and talk down AT people making them FEEL stupid and ignorant for not seeing things which are NOT there while building up their own already over-inflated egos to an unholy degree."
"NOTE: This is interesting for you are to love God with your whole mind. If you cannot think, reason and understand you cannot completely love God with your whole mind. Without having the freedom to search you cannot be transformed by renewing your mind if you cannot think to renew it."
"(1st Corinthians 1:17-18 States that Christianity is for the ignorant)"
