Fox News Sham Hannity allows guest to promote ‘holy war’ on Muslims

By David Edwards

The year has just begun, and already Fox News' Sean Hannity is telling the story of how Christians are being persecuted in the Arab world.

(These Faux Fox Fundamentalist Xtians are the Anti-Christs that Disciple Saint John wrote about)

"Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us." 1 John 2:18-19

Hannity observed that a holy war may be "brewing" in the Middle East, as he reported on the New Year's Eve bombing of a Christian church in Egypt.

Cliff May, a notorious neoconservative and creator of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, was a little more excited about the prediction than Hannity.

"In your intro you said a holy war is brewing," May began. "It is not brewing, it is taking place."

"Christians and other religious and ethnic minorities are being not just discriminated, but persecuted in Egypt and throughout the broader Middle East," he added.

"Do you think we are headed for a modern day religious war in the Middle East?" Hannity asked.

"The war that is being fought now, the great global conflict in the world, from Iraq to Afghanistan to Gaza, this is one war and it is a religious war," May explained. "Not because we want it to be, but because al Qaeda and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and various other radical Islamists and jihadists, they say it's a religious war. That's what a jihad means."

1. The popular word Jihád or Jihd, occurring in several passages of the Koran, and generally construed by Christians and Moslems alike as meaning hostility or the waging of war against infidels, does not classically or literally signify war, warfare, hostility or fighting, and is never used in such a sense in the Koran. The Arabic terms for warfare or fighting are Harab and Kitál.

Classical meaning of Jihád, &c.

2. The words Jahada, and Jáhada signify that a person strove, laboured or toiled; exerted himself or his power, or efforts, or endeavours, or ability employed himself vigorously, diligently, studiously, sedulously, earnestly or with energy; was diligent or studious, took pains or extraordinary pains; for example, the term Jáhada fil-amr signifies that a person did his utmost or used his utmost powers, or efforts, or endeavours, or ability in prosecuting an affair. The infinitive noun Jihádan also means difficulty or embarrassment, distress, affliction, trouble, inconvenience, fatigue, or weariness. Jauharce, a lexicologist of great repute, whose work is confined to classical terms and their significations, says in his Siháh that Jáhada fi Sabeelillah or Mojáhadatan and Jihádan and also Ajtahada and Tajáhada mean expending power and effort. Fayoomee, author of Misbahel Moneer, which contains a very large collection of classical words and phrases of frequent occurrence, also says that Jáhada fi Sabeelillah Jihádan and Ajtahada fil Amr mean he expended his utmost efforts and power in seeking to attain an object.

"People forget jihad equals holy war," Hannity concluded.

"Almost all the common Mohammadan and European writers think that a religious war of aggression is one of the tenets of Islam, and prescribed by the Koran for the purpose of proselytizing or exacting tribute. But I do not find any such doctrine enjoined in the Koran, or taught, or preached by Mohammad. His mission was not to wage wars, or to make converts at the point of the sword, or to exact tribute or exterminate those who did not believe his religion. His sole mission was to enlighten the Arabs to the true worship of the one God, to recommend virtue and denounce vice, which he truly fulfilled." Extrract from POPULAR "JIHÁD." It was President George W. Bush who first invoked images of a holy war in the Middle East, when he suggested soon after Sept. 11, 2001 that the US was on a "crusade" in the region.

Years later, GQ magazine uncovered top-secret military briefings prepared by former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld for President George W. Bush that included Bible passages.

Trijicon Inc., a defense contractor, was discovered last Janurary to have been placing scriptural references on military gun sights used in Iraq and Afghanistan for years. The company was forced to provide the Pentagon with kits to remove the Bible codes.

Centuries-Long Immunity From Attacks on Bethlehem’s Church of Nativity Ends By Fred Strickert

There’s a popular story that the Church of the Nativity was spared from destruction when, in the 7th century, invading Persian soldiers noticed a mural depicting the visit by the Three Magi to the Christ child. The apparel of the biblical characters communicated the message that the significance of Christmas transcended cultures. Like the wise men from the east, the invading army showed a special respect for this holy place. They prayed and left in peace.

Bethlehem’s Church of the Nativity holds the distinction of being the world’s oldest church in continuous use. The church structure, shared by Greek Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Armenian, and visited by Christian and Muslim pilgrims alike, goes back to the 6th century Emperor Justinian, who reconstructed the church first erected by Helena, mother of Constantine.

Today, marks of gunfire on the ancient edifice are a reminder to local residents that the Church of the Nativity no longer is a sanctuary offering protection from attack. The damage includes bullet marks in the ancient stones as well as three broken windows in the Basilica. During Sunday mass on Oct. 21, gunfire struck the adjacent church of St. Catherine, frightening worshippers and shattering glass.

According to an AP wire service story by Ibrahim Hazboun, the Israeli response to world outrage has shifted between outright denial and attempts to blame the Palestinians for drawing the fire.
