Last night on “The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart did what he does best: Threw his hands up and asked “WTF?” This time, it was in regards to the conservative clamor for lower corporate income taxes, while it was recently revealed that GE pays no federal taxes, and in fact this year, received a $3.2 billion tax benefit.
“You know, I know the Supreme Court ruled that corporations are people, but what I didn’t realize is that those people are assholes,” Stewart said.
Then, watch Stewart’s job drop further after President Barack Obama wags his finger at corporations that pay no taxes, and then awards a jobs panel chairmanship to GE CEO Jeff Immelt, because he “understands what it takes to compete in the global economy.”
Watch the clip below, originally broadcast on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” on March 28, 2011.
