Pride comes before the fall

Whited Sepulchers

This website has been up for about 5 years trying to warn people about Haggard's hypocrisy.
We tried to get people to see the similarities between Joseph Smith (founder of the Mormon church) and Haggard. Smith was a money hungry, power starved, sex addict. We have always known that Haggard was obsessed with money and power, but it looks like Haggard had more in common with Smith than we knew. Haggard loves the limelight. Always has, always will. That's why many are beginning to wonder if Haggard will commit suicide. He realizes that there is no way to get out of this fiasco with his well guarded reputation intact, so why not go out in a blaze of glory? It will depend on whether Dr. Jekyl or Mr. Hyde is at the helm. Ted Haggard has appeared to suffer with a spiritual form of a bi-polar disorder for some time. His family and the staff are well aware of his dual personalities. One day he is the nicest guy you will ever meet and the next he is an out-of-control authoritarian. Ironically, during his last sermon at New Life Church, Haggard prayed: “Father, we pray that lies would be exposed. We pray that deception would be exposed.”

His ability to convince people of his various ludicrous positions is also legendary. A few years back, Haggard gave a false prophecy. When he began to hear the murmurs of those who had the audacity to question the origins of his prophecy, Haggard immediately pulled together a master plan to blame God. Blame God? How do you blame God for your false prophecies? By teaching that God doesn't know the future. It's called Open Theism, and Haggard taught it from the pulpit for over a year. I was a member of his congregation at the time (for seven years). I walked out and never looked back. Sadly, my family was the only family that I know of that left. I am not saying that to brag but to register my concern that the rest of New Life is either scripturally illiterate or blinded by Haggard's charisma. But this is where it gets even more chilling: about a year later, Haggard (because of pressure from the NAE) preaches a sermon AGAINST Open Theism. He declares anyone who teaches it to be a heretic! If he had confessed that he, too, had been sucked into the false teaching and was repenting, that would have been fine. But no, he just declares Open Theism to be heresy and all who teach it to be heretics. The obvious implication is that Haggard condemned himself as a heretic because he clearly taught Open Theism (to cover up his false prophecy). Did anyone call him on the carpet for this? Of course not. But why? Because Haggard started the church and made sure that he had no accountability. No one can challenge him, unless they want to be on the unemployment line the next day.

Some of the staff claim that he DID have a core group of men that he was accountable to. Really? Then where were they when Hag was doing meth during his little rubdowns with his male prostitute? The male prostitute said in an interview that Hag's sexual fantasy was to have an orgy with 5 or 6 young boys in their late teens or early twenties. Have you ever seen Hag's pastoral staff? They are not allowed to have facial hair (Hag's orders). They all look like they are in their early twenties, and to be honest, most of them are rather effeminate. Take a look at the interim acting pastor. This is not a guy you would want with you in a street fight. I am not saying that he's gay, but I wonder why they all seem to look and act so…un-manly. There may be others that come out of the closet before the dust settles.

About 2 years ago, I was contacted via this website by a former pastor at New Life. He said that he had been fired by Haggard for "causing dissention." He said that he went to Haggard with evidence of homosexual activity amongst staff members. He claimed that Haggard was verbally brutal and threatened to counsel the man's wife to divorce him. I asked him if we could meet over lunch and he agreed. The day before we were to meet, he called and left a voicemail stating that he feared reprisal from Haggard and decided to slip back into the shadows.

My friend, it is time to come to the forefront. Click on the e-mail link below and bring his actions out into the light of day. Haggard cannot hurt you now. He is powerless. The church will now embrace your hurt and abuse and help restore your peace. You will have a voice. You will no longer need to live in fear of retaliation. It is up to you. If you feel that Haggard has already receive his due, then so be it. But Haggard will continue to deny everything that he thinks cannot be proven. Right now we only have a couple of ministries and one male prostitute that are speaking out about Hag's hypocrisy. The more people that are willing to come forward, the more credibility we will have in the eyes of the public. Eventually, Haggard will have to come clean. If you or someone you know has suffered abuse at the hands of Haggard, we encourage you and them to come forward. The time has come for Haggard to answer for his verbal and spiritual manipulations. Are you in?

Ted Haggard is the pastor of the 14,000 member New Life Church in Colorado Springs. He is also an well-known author and conference speaker. Recently, he also became the president of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) which represents almost 50,000 churches in America.

Haggard founded New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1985. At that time Colorado Springs was a New Age Center that was economically and socially depressed. He believes God commissioned him to establish a church there that would allow the people to freely experience the life of God. He was led to faith in Christ by two Southern Baptist pastors, and he was licensed and ordained by Southern Baptist churches. Haggard now embraces Charismatic doctrine and the five fold ministries of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers.

But what do we really know about Ted Haggard? Not the PR snippets, the real Ted. Is he really an Evangelical? We will seek to examine his teachings in light of God's Word, and try to find the real Ted Haggard. One thing we know for sure is that he teaches the heresy of Open Theism (click on "Heretic?" to learn more). To make things easier to track, throughout this website, most of Haggard's comments will be rendered in RED.

Judging from the descriptions of those we interviewed, Haggard could either be God's man of the hour, or the leader of a new cultic movement, the likes of which have not been seen since the latter half of the nineteenth century. Sadly, Haggard has been described by some members and employees of his church as "haughty," "prideful," "manipulative," "arrogant," and even "dangerous." Are these the unfounded carnal accusations of the spiritually immature... or the unheeded Godly warnings of those that know him best?

Hopefully, we will be able to answer that pressing question by simply examining some of his sermons and other written documentation and find out if he is the new Billy Graham... or another Joseph Smith.
